Apex Property Care

Caring For People And Property

Apex Property Care, based in Edinburgh, has been trading for over 35 years.

We have worked in a wide range of properties including all forms of construction, new, listed, and historic buildings. Our approach is to be sensitive to the needs of the buildings and their occupiers who often find themselves with unforeseen damp or structural timber problems.

Working on historic building we started using endoscopes in the 1990s to allow sensible non-destructive investigations of built-in timbers. This soon led on to installing moisture sensors in buildings to allow us to track moisture movement. Without unintended moisture in the wrong places, there would not be timber decay or mould growth to worry about!

Our aim is to help our clients resolve dampness and decay problems in the best possible way.

Our surveyors are CSRT qualified and our Managing Director, John Robertson is a member of the Society for the Protection of Ancient Buildings.

PCA Logo

Property Care Association

The Property Care Association (PCA) is the leading property care industry Trade Association.

Shortly after a British Wood Preserving and Damp Proofing Association (BWPDA) vote in 2006, the Property Care Association and the Wood Protection Association became separate Trade Associations.

The PCA cover property care sectors such as damp control, timber preservation, structural repair, structural waterproofing, flood recovery, flood protection and invasive weed control.

They promote industry excellence through strict membership criteria, ongoing audits of contractor member companies, regular site inspections, improved standards to increase consumer confidence and they also support opportunities for Continuing Professional Development to develop better knowledge and skills in waterproofing, damp control and timber treatment.
